“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.”this first story is the story that has changed my life the most;;
I was never overly worried about my family, I thought nothing bad would ever happen in my boring life, well at least not now. My father is a police officer. He was working a normal night shift for the street crime unit, he was executing a search warrant with his fellow officers when the unexpected happened. The owner of the house was a drug dealer. When he realized it was the police that were in his home he panicked and ran into the bathroom with a shot gun. The police werent aware that he was armed and my dad went to the door to try and break it down. While he was doing this the man fired the shot gun through the door. My dad was shot in the abdomen. He hadnt realized it at the moment and just kept on hitting the door. He felt a pressure on his side and smelt the gun powder, then he realized it. He backed away from the door and informed the other officers that he was hit. My dad's friend came and took him to a safer place to get help. The man came out of the washroom, shot gun in hand and saw my dad and his friend he took another shot and hit my dads friend. He was obtained before he could injure any other officers. My dad and his friend were taken to the hospital and two officers went to my house to inform my mom and drive her to the hospital. It was around 11:30pm and my mom didn't want to wake my sister and I. So she left us to sleep and came to get us in the morning. When she told me i thought i was dreaming, i immediately starting crying and couldn't believe what i was hearing. We where taken to the hospital where we waited and waited and waited. My dad is fine now other then some nightmares and minor stomache pain. I will never take my family for granted again, and i think this has changed my life.
